Overview

San Luca is located on Via Antonio Pacinotti, which is in a quiet residential area of Alghero. All of the ammenities you might typically require are within 5 to 10 minutes walking distance. These include several local shops, cafes, larger supermarkets, pharmacies, pizzerias and many excellent restaurants. You can also enjoy the large outdoor food, clothing and crafts market which takes place every Wednesday morning. A lovely 25 minute walk will take you to a superb sandy beach and along Via Lido which is a beachfront route with a wonderful large pedestrian esplanade and passes dozens more shops, cafes, ice-cream parlours (gelateria) and restaurants and continues to the beautiful and historical ‘Old Town’ of Alghero. For those wishing to travel the island, the main Bus & Train station for Alghero (ARST) is less than 5 minutes from San Luca.

The Old Town
Explore the many shops, restaurants, alleyways, historical buildings and gelaterias. This is a great place to pick up a unique keep-sake or gift to bring home.
Spend the day on the beach
Spiaggia del Lido di Alghero, the main beach is only 10 minutes walk away, but there are dozens of glorious beaches in the region accessible by bike, car, bus or train.
Take a boat trip
There are many guided tours available to the Capo Caccia and other points of interest. You can try dolphin spotting or diving. Power and pedal boats are also available to hire.
Visit Grotte di Nettuno (Neptunes Grotto)
Capo Caccia and Neptunes Grotto are must-do items when in Alghero. Beware, access to the caves involve a lot of steps, unless you arrive by boat.
Eat out
Alghero offers many places to dine from beachside stalls to fine dining. You can enjoy a wood-fired pizza, try the exceptional seafood or experience genuine Italian cuisine.
Hire bikes
There are many bicycle/scooter rentals and it is a lovely way to tour the area. There is a cycleway to Fertilia and a trail through the Porto Conte national park.
Take the train or bus
San Luca is 5 minutes walk from Train/Bus services giving easy access to many towns and cities across the Island. Try shopping in Sassari or visit the Costa Smerelda on the east coast.
